Coral bet of the day

  • Three of Spain’s last four wins against Turkey were to nil
  • La Roja have only lost once in their last eight encounters with the Turks
  • Six of Spain’s nine goals came in the last ten minutes of games

Spain 5/1 to 1-0 sneak victory

Reigning champions Spain are looking to lift their third consecutive European Championship, as they endeavour to seal their place in the elimination stages with a triumph over Fatih Terim’s team.

They come into this clash on the back of a 1-0 victory over Czech Republic in their Euro 2016 curtain raiser.

EURO Spain vs Czech Republic - Toulouse

La Roja’s 36-match unbeaten run in the World Cup and Euro qualifiers was ended by Slovakia in October 2014. However, Vicente del Bosque’s team won their remaining eight games of their qualifying group and set a national record of eight consecutive clean sheets in competitive matches.

With the triumph over the Czechs, they totted another clean victory to nil and now haven’t conceded a single goal in their last 600 minutes at the European Championships, the longest run in the history of the tournament. Coral have the nation 5/1 to win their second group game 1-0.

Spain have a superb record over the Crescent Stars, having only lost once in their last eight encounters with the Turks. Fatih Terim, the third best paid coach in the tournament, will be under immense pressure to collect at least a point against the Spaniards, but will remain rank outsiders to get anything out the game.

Del Bosque’s boys buoyant

Six of La Roja’s last nine goals came in the final ten minutes and they love late game drama. The current champions come into the clash high on confidence and have not lost at the Euros since 2004 against Portugal, going on a run of 13 games without a loss and winning the competition twice in succession.

EURO 2016 - Group D Spain vs. Czech Republic

Turkey, on the other hand, lost their opening fixture against Croatia on Sunday, falling to a 1-0 defeat in Paris.

Turkey captain Arda Turan even said: “Spain are the favourites – they will have more of the ball.”

So, with Spain having conceded only once in their last six matches versus Turkey and look set for another win.
